So this is "Overdo Always" because it's a little busy and it is over another painting that I originally liked. It's much better now.
For the last couple months, I have been doing a series focusing on color. I have in the past focused on drawing, then I did some paintings focused on big texture right out of the tube not even thinking about color except intuitively which I thought was enough. Recently looking back on my work, I find that color has been kinda un-dynamic so that kind of adds into my focus-- value. Of course I have been working on value for years and still am spotty. I blame one of my first oil painting instructors who would scream if she saw too much dark, and don't even get me started on "bubble gum pink" which she hated. At last, I am over it and am working with a lot of pink because I love it.
Alrighty! Goldie and me are here and working today.
