Yep! So there I am with a glass of California Rose' in hand, standing in front of my loverly Triptych entitled "Pray to Stay". I absolutely love this show! Every member artist gets into the showing, so it's a good time to show off to other artist members, friends, and family in the community what one has been creating. Out of the three paintings I offered, the triptych was chosen.
I love the colors of the three, not the normal blues and greens I have used in the past. I did them from some photos I took of the Foothills here in Northern California. I was showing my art in Sutter Creek a few years back and the drive from Roseville was always just so magnificent. I would often stop and take photos of the oaks, creeks and lakes, the paths and roads, the workers in the fields, the expanse of land and changes in elevation that are so prominent. I did the drive a couple times a week for a full year, so I have a stockpile of photos that I took in all kinds of weather from the dark dismal (but wonderful) cloudy and rainy days to the hot, hot sunshiney dried out yellow to orangey days in full summer.
I had a wonderful time at the show, my peeps were there!!! Kids and grandkids, artist friends and cohorts, my girlfriend Allie was hanging' with me for a bit, even my husband was toodlin' around looking at art. I saw him laughing and talking quite a bit too, imagine that!
I am so grateful for my family and my friends and the life that I have.
