In my studio, thinking art with Goldie...we've gone through magazines tearing out what we can't throw away and then filing the pages, articles, pictures in the stacks of stuff that I keep. One stack is palette colors for future paintings, one is to be used for collage, the third are actually my own photos for painting ideas.

this occurred, the idea of black line heavy on my mind along with squares. I got out a big canvas 36x36" and voila!

This painting emerged after like 22 layers of collage, line, paint, gesso etc. etc. I'm at the place where I don't know of anything more I can do to emote anything else. I'm calling it done. This painting can be turned on any end and it stands on its own, red and black--strong colors, lines are tough...so At the Top just feels right.
